2025 has shown how quickly the environment around us can change. In various countries, restrictions targeting LGBTQ+ people are growing, hate speech is increasing, and cases of pressure and violence have become more frequent. Our work is becoming more difficult both because of funding cuts and because of broader societal fatigue around human rights issues. Yet it is precisely in such periods that the purpose of “Coming out” becomes especially clear.
Looking back at the year’s results, we see, first and foremost, people. Those whom we helped find safe housing, receive psychological support during acute crises, navigate documentation issues, and rebuild their professional trajectories. Behind each consultation, there is a story and someone’s future that has been protected and secured. We released new materials, guidelines, and research to give LGBTQ+ people and professionals greater clarity and more tools. While the state keeps systematically oppressing queer people, we try to reduce the harm and bring together more allies to preserve, as much as possible, the conditions for a normal life for queer people in Russia.
We are proud of our team and volunteers. These are people who refuse to remain indifferent and who choose solidarity every day. Together, we continue strengthening partnerships and the sustainability of the organization, so that support is not interrupted. As long as there are people who are ready to act, we have the strength to move forward.
